AndreaYateswasbornin1964in Houston,Tex.ShegraduatedfromMilbyHighSchoolinHoustonin1982.Among herachievements:theclassvaledictorian,captainoftheswimteamandan officerintheNationalHonorSociety.Shecompletedatwo-yearpre-nursing programattheUniversityofHoustonandgraduatedin1986.Shethenworked asaregisterednurseattheUniversityofTexasM.D.AndersonCancerCenter until1994.

Shemarriedherhusband,Rustyin1993andhadfive children(4boysand1girl)withhimin8yearsofmarriage.

Andreacameundermentalstressaftereachpregnancy. Oneday,Andreametapreacherwhobelievedthatbadmotherswhoaregoing tohellcreatebadchildrenwhowillgotohell.Shetotallybelievedhim.

In2000,onedayAndreadrownedherthreeyoungestboysinthebathtub, thenplacedthemonherbedandcoveredthem.Marywasleftfloatinginthe tub.Thelastchildalive,seven-year-oldNoah,ranaway.Andreacaughtup withhimanddraggedhimandforcedhimintothetubhewasdead.Leaving Noahinthetub,shebroughtMarytothebedandlaidherinthearmsofher brothers.

DuringAndrea'sconfessionsheexplainedheractionsbysayingthatshe wasn'tagoodmotherandthatthechildrenwere"notdevelopingcorrectly" andsheneededtobepunished.
