If you need to take the Test of English as a
Foreign Language,
our intensive
TOEFL course will improve your general level of English and give you all the preparation
you need to sit the exam. Learn
effective strategies to answer test questions correctly and in a limited time. Use
specific TOEFL CD-ROMs to increase your proficiency in test taking.
Based around a course book, you will cover grammar and various vocabulary topics appropriate to your level. You will also focus on developing the 4 skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing). |

Course
Format
You will focus on developing the 4 skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing).
you will
have 9 weeks (Saturdays and Sundays) of specific exam work aiming to prepare you by:

introducing you to the format
and content of TOEFL
·
developing your knowledge of English structures and grammar
·
improving your understanding of spoken English.
·
focusing on meaning and use of vocabulary
·
raising awareness of the skills and strategies involved in determining the correct answer
·
using regular practice tests so that you and your teachers can measure your performance
and determine areas of weakness
The materials used during the
lessons come from both text books and CD Roms.
The Study Centre has complete
practice tests, both pen & paper and on the computer, for you to do in your own time.
TOEFL exam registration costs
$185 US.

This course has a fixed start
date. Only in exceptional circumstances will the school accept a student onto a
course which has already started. Please contact the school directly for further
information.
Acceptance onto
the TOEFL course is at the discretion of The Director of Studies. On the first day
you will be given a test. If the level of English is found not to be satisfactory,
you will either transfer to an exam at a lower level or take an intensive course.
